Review:

David Cook released the music video for his current single, “Fade Into Me” earlier this morning. The song is the singer’s second single off his latest album, This Loud Morning.

Last month I had the opportunity to talk with David in an interview for Blogcritics about his current tour, and he shared with me a little about this latest video, which was directed by Chris Sims.

“The content of the video, I wanted to showcase how we are live. I feel like it’s really easy sometimes to throw a tie on, and comb your hair, and put together this really sweet storyline; and I think “Fade Into Me” could have definitely taken that angle and it would have worked. I wanted this video to be kind of a no frills, no pretense kind of look at us on the road. It’s a lot of live footage, really just for lack of a better way to phrase it, it’s more of a day in the life kind of thing.”

Review:

Revolutionary, by no means, but still engaging enough to bring a bit of character to the throwback song.  Even in that ‘character’, it appears to lack a bit of -umph that Mary needs to boost this record into record-buyer’s view.   As no stranger to choreography, Mary’s moves in ‘25/8′ were also a characteristic throwback to her earlier work (which appears to be the parent album’s overall feel).  But, while we certainly hail the Queen here at TGJ and applaud her efforts to step out of her comfort zone, that does not forgive those Bengay-thirsty two steps.

Either way, how well the visual will assist Blige’s bid for the upper half of the charts remains to be seen. But, as ever, here’s hoping her loyal fanbase and seeming ‘25/8′ promo hustle will certainly fill in the blanks.

Review:

Mindless Behavior drops the high-energy visuals for their auto-tuned track, “Girls Talkin’ Bout“.

There’s nothing simple with this music video as the stunning visuals are all there to depict its high-power, high-energy vibe this track is aiming for. This teen group appears colorfully dressed, with everything fashionably top-notch, all the way from their sneakers, to their Beats headphones, to their hairstyles. Although visually rich, it’s absolutely entertaining, especially the choreography which showcases crazy moves that somehow reminds me of the Black Eyed Peas while the their auto-tuned vocals and synths reminds me of T-Pain. No doubt, these kids can perform under this awesome club / dance song.

After headlining the BET Closer to My Dreams Tour with Diggy Simmons, Lil Twist, Tyga, Trevante and Jawan Harris. “Mindless Behavior“, consisting of members Prodigy, Princeton, Roc Royal andRay Ray, will be headlining another major tour called The Scream Tour: The Next Generation with Jacob Latimore, Hamilton Park, OMG Girlz and their former BET tour-mate Diggy. So fans who are currently digging their moves must watch out for this tour.

“Girls Talkin’ Bout” is their latest single, following “My Girl“, featuring Young Money rappers Tyga, Lil Twist and R&B singer Ciara, and “Mrs. Right” featuring Diggy Simmons, all coming from their debut studio album, #1 Girl.
